A 70-year-old resident of Mayem-Bicholim who had met with an accident at Anmod Ghat on Friday succumbed to injuries in GMC Hospital on Sunday.
According to Collem PSI Tulshidas Naik, the deceased Shantaram Charu Mainkar was one of the occupants of the car, which had collided against a tipper truck. The other inmates of the car were discharged after administering first aid.
Mainkar was seriously injured and was rushed to GMC Hospital in Bambolim, where he succumbed to injuries on Sunday at about 5 am. The body was handed over to his relatives for final rites.
