Complaint against illegal shack at Calangute

PANJIM, SEPT 29 While shack allotment for beach stretches in North Goa was just completed on Tuesday, the Tourism Department on Thursday received a complaint about illegal shack on Calangute beach. The complaint which was initially filed before Travel and Tourism Association (TTAG) has been now forwarded to the Tourism Department.

While shack allotment for beach stretches in North Goa was just completed on Tuesday, the Tourism Department on Thursday received a complaint about illegal shack on Calangute beach.
The complaint which was initially filed before Travel and Tourism Association (TTAG) has been now forwarded to the Tourism Department.
Confirming of the receipt of a complaint from TTAG, Pamela Mascarenhas, deputy director of Tourism, said she has asked the officer in-charge to take necessary action.
Meanwhile, the department on Wednesday allotted 92 shacks through lots for beach stretches in South Goa.
While 106 were marked for South Goa, total allotment could not be carried out.
As far as Palolem beach is concerned allotment of shacks has been put on hold due to High Court directive, told tourism official.
It is learnt that Shack Owners Welfare Society has filed a complaint with Canacona Municipal Council saying illegal shacks have come up in private properties along Palolem beach.
