PANJIM: Days after the state level events permission committee and the Goa government granted permission for three EDMs (electronic dance music festivals) in north Goa, Percept, the organizers of Sunburn have sought permission to extend its EDM festival at Vagator by two days.
Sunburn was scheduled between December 27-29, 2013 as the event has always been held in Goa for three days.
While the government has granted permission for the annual three day event, this time at Vagator, the event organizers have applied afresh for permissions to extend the festival till December 31, 2013.
Viacom 18 would be holding its EDM at Candolim between December 26-30, while Bresources , the event agency of Nuvem legislator Francisco Mickky Pacheco has been granted permission for an EDM at Baga between December 27 to 30, 2013.
Sources in the Tourism Ministry say that the new application submitted by Percept today may have to be examined afresh by the committee.
A senior official in the Tourism Department said that it is unlikely that the government will consider extension of days for Sunburn event and not till December 31.
“The present permission granted for three days is also conditional and the committee will be inspecting the Vagator venue shortly,” the official said.
The permission granted for Sunburn, we are told, is subject to assessment reports from traffic, fire and safety aspects and only after inspections and reports are submitted endorsing satisfaction on the plan of action for smooth conduct of the event, that the committee and government would give the green signal.
