VASCO: A woman has filed a police complaint against an English weekly for publishing the photo of her minor daughter in violation of the Children’s Act.

In her complaint, Rashmi Naik told Vasco Police that she along with her husband, who is a policeman, had taken their minor daughter to a clinic as she had fever.

As they were purchasing medicines from a nearby pharmacy, the photographer of the weekly clicked the photo of her daughter along with her husband, which is violation of their fundamental right and against the Children’s Act 2008.

Naik has requested Vasco police to book the culprits for defaming the family. Acting on the complaint, Vasco police has registered an offence against the journalists/publisher of the weekly under Section 8 (1) of Children’s Act 2008.
