PANJIM: Riding on a fine brace from Rohit Pilgaonkar, CDJ Ribandar scored a convincing 4-2 win over Odxel Sports Club in the Goa Football Association Second Division League Ilhas Zone match, played at Taleigao ground, on Tuesday.
The evenly contested match saw both the teams go all out from the word go. While CDJ Ribandar tried to penetrate from the centre, their opponents Odxel used long ball tactics to pin their opponents. Odxel took the lead in the 17th minute through Vikrant Mangueshkar. The goal didn’t change the scenario of the game as Ribandar kept trying to break the rival defence and successfully managed to do it in the 30th minute through Rohit. With the scores 1-1, Ribandar enjoyed better possession and they scored the second goal in the 37th minute through Jayandar Kunkolienkar. Odxel trailed at the break.
Post resumption, the teams played more of a midfield battle before CDJ Ribandar inflated their lead in the 70th minute through Shubham Pednekar. However, Odxel pulled a goal back in the 82nd minute through Shivkumar Paithan to make it 2-3. But Rohit Pilgaonkar scored his second in the 90th minute to grab full points for his side.
