PANJIM: Francis Ribeiro, Herald former sports editor passed away on December 16 after a brief illness. He was 57.

Popularly known as Choppy, he worked as the Herald sports editor for more than a decade and later was instrumental in launching and heading the Herald weekly sports magazine,’Sportwatch’. Besides working with Herald, Choppy also had stints in other newspapers in Goa.
