SP Traffic Arvind Gawas informed that the drive began soon after the infamous Shobhika Gaur case wherein she knocked down two bike-borne youth in the wee hours of July 20-21, as she drove her car in an allegedly inebriated condition, on the wrong side.
While she was arrested and soon bailed out, the two victims, who were almost killed in the accident, were hospitalized for a couple of weeks until they were discharge after recovery.
In another drive, the traffic officials have booked 156 youth for riding two wheelers without license in merely five days since September 20. Gawas said the strict enforcement of motor vehicles rules will carry on to ensure road safety.
