NEW DELHI:There is still hope for the interested party who wished to ply their trade from Hyderabad in the I-League next season.
While the All India Football Federation (AIFF) mentioned that they had failed to meet financial norms with regards to not having a profit-loss statement for the last three years given they had bid through a new company, they could still possibly get into the I-League provided Pricewaterhouse Coopers (PWC) stamp their approval.
“They were not fulfilling the financial criteria as one of the main reasons was that their company was new. They are now indicating that they may be able to satisfy the criteria in some other manner though bank guarantees and so on.
“If that happens and PWC agrees, then we can take a re-look or reconsider the whole situation,” AIFF general secretary Kushal Das told Goal.
As reported earlier, one of the top industrialists from Pune has shown an interest to bid for a berth into the I-League by submitting a letter of intent. The Indian FA are open to extending the deadline for submitting the bid given the latest developments.
“PWC said that although the bid dates are closed, we can again re-open it because nothing stops us from re-opening and receiving the document. If they are ready to submit the documents, we may re-open the bid.
“We will open it for ten to 15 days or maybe till 31st August,” he mentioned.
