PANJIM: Utpal Parrikar, who unsuccessfully contested the Assembly elections in Panjim, on Saturday blamed the government and Panjim MLA for inadequate preparation for the monsoon season, which caused flooding of city roads.

He said, “The flooding of roads in city have exposed the lack of leadership by the local representatives.”
“Proper planning would have prevented flooding in the city,” he added.
He also alleged that the elected representatives are interested in the real estate value of land here, rather than the interest of its people.
