Pomburpa rape accused denied advance bail

MAPUSA: The Sessions Court at Mapus has rejected the anticipatory bail application of a rape accused, who has been absconding after committing the crime.
Amit Shet, the 26-year-old accused from Pomburpa, has been booked by Mapusa police for allegedly trespassing into the house of the minor victim and raping her on April 30 evening, when her parents were away.
 According to Mapusa police, the mother of the victim lodged a complaint that Shet trespassed into her house and raped her daughter when she was away from home. The incident came to light after the victim narrated the incident to her parents when they returned home.
Following the complaint, the Mapusa police have registered an offence under section 341 (wrongful restraint), 452 (house-trespass after preparation for hurt), 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 354A (sexual harassment), 354B (assault or use of criminal force to woman with intent to disrobe), 376 (rape) of Indian Penal Code and Section 8 of Goa Children’s act and Sections 4, 8, and 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO). 
The case is being further investigated by PSI Dhiraj Devidas under the supervision of Mapusa PI Kapil Nayak.
