PANJIM: The High Court of Bombay at Goa has issued notice to the State government and a private developer in connection with a petition challenging the grant of occupancy certificate to the Boshan Classic project of Boshan Developers at Bodgeshwar, Mapusa, which the petitioners argue is in violation of several norms relating to required environmental infrastructure.
NGO Goa Foundation, the Bodgeshwar Shetkari Sangh and the Camarkhazan Tenants Association, in its petition have stated that Sewage Treatment Plant for the complex is not in place despite the fact that the building has more than 24 units.
The petitioners stated that the petition is filed in public interest in view of the possible completion and use of the Boshan Classic – a major new commercial building still under construction – without having a Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), required road access, adequate parking and waste management facilities, mandated by law. Further, the GSPCB has not granted Consent to Establish for this project.
The petitioners have thus prayed to quash and set aside the completion certificate of July 2018 as well as the revised development plan of August 2018.
