PANJIM: Don Bosco College, Panjim and St Xaviers College, Mapusa won the men and women inter-collegiate baseball championships respectively, organized by Goa University, at University ground, Talegao Plateau, recently.
Don Bosco grounded Goa Engineering College, Farmagudi 12-2 in the men final. In the semi-final, Don Bosco edged past St Xaviers 13-11 and GEC defeated Vidya Prabodini College, Porvorim 8-7.
In the women final, St Xaviers College thrashed Government College, Kandola 16-3.
St Xaviers outplayed GVM’s College, Ponda 11-1 in the semi-final while Government College, Khandola trounced Vidya Prabodhini College, Porvorim 3-0 in the second semi-final.
Leo Macedo, Controller of Examination, Goa University was the chief guest for the presentation ceremony and presented medals and trophies to the winners and runners-up.
