Ad hoc Panel calls for appointment of PPs APPs

PANJIM, JULY 26 The Ad Hoc Committee on Law has asked the government to enact a framework for quick and efficient filling of posts of Public Prosecutors (PPs) and Assistant Public Prosecutors (APPs) as shortfall immediately impacts functioning of judiciary.

The Ad Hoc Committee on Law has asked the government to enact a framework for quick and efficient filling of posts of Public Prosecutors (PPs) and Assistant Public Prosecutors (APPs) as shortfall immediately impacts functioning of judiciary.
There are fourteen sessions courts out of which eight are in North Goa and six in South Goa and services of at least, one PP has to be provided in all the courts however there are only eight sanctioned posts of PPs of which one is lying vacant.
The govt admitted that the strength of PPs was on the lower side as compared to the number of courts existing in the North Goa and South Goa.
It has decided to create at least five posts of PPs.
