Serious concerns have been raised by the citizens of port
town over the undue delay in commencement of MMC’s signature building project
also known as ‘CO bungalow project’ for which foundation stone was laid on two
occasions and assurance of completing the project in one year’s time hasn’t
been fulfilled.
According to the citizens, the state government gave a grant
of Rs 3 crores to the Mormugao Municipal Council as part of the golden jubilee
celebration of Goa’s liberation. However the money which was supposed to be
used for construction of the signature building project has not been utilised
by MMC since last three years and the project too lies in doll drums.
