MARGAO: In a daring daylight burglary, unknown accused committed theft of gold ornaments, besides cash of Rs 20,000, all amounting to Rs two lakh from the house of Placinda Araujo, Gouloi-Nuvem, on Wednesday noon.
The incident occurred when the complainant had gone out. The burglars effected entry into the house by removing the window grills. A gold necklace, two chains, two bangles and Rs 20,000 were looted after ransacking the house.
Police have found an axe and a crowbar at the site of the incident which have been attached. PSI Deu is conducting further investigation in the case.
