Ward panch of Chicalim Neelam Naik has filed complain at
Vasco Police station demanding a thorough investigation against the petroleum
companies in the locality. Naik has taken this significant step in the
ongoing concern surrounding well contamination in the vicinity due to the
petroleum companies.
Naik has lodged a formal complaint at the Vasco Police Station,
urging the initiation of an FIR to instigate a comprehensive investigation into
the matter. Naik said that People of Matve-Dabolim continue to live in fear as
the ingress of petrol in their wells still continues even after five days.

Naik further said that FIR should be registered and the source of
contamination should be immediately identified and stopped. So far 25 takers of
petroleum have been pumped out from these wells. She also raised the issue of
disposal of this petrol extracted from wells as no one knows where these
tankers are being emptied.
