MARGAO: Will the narrative of anti-Chinese sentiment against the trade be reflected in the entire State and the country is the question on the minds of the Goans.
The MMC has been asked to revoke the licence to a Chinese mobile retail store over the issues of unfair business practices and mostly due to the stand of China in Doklam. TCP Minister Vijai Sardessai has claimed that the chief minister is agreeable on this front.
Speaking to the media on the issues highlighted by the Goa Mobile Retailers Association (GMRA), Sardessai said that there is an unfavorable sentiment in India regarding China and Chinese policy over the Doklam standoff.
“Healthy business competition and other issues are all okay, but Indians in China know what they have to face there. They won’t be allowed to circumvent the Goan trade and a resolution will be taken to revoke licence of the outlet in Margao,” TCP minister said.
He said that protecting the interest of Goa and Goans is the responsibility of the government. The licence issued is on technical basis and this issue is more sentimental and also of business practices” said Minister Sardesai.
“The chief minister is agreeable with the same and if there is unity among the Goan retailers’ association, then, the same may be extended all over Goa,” Vijai said.
