PANJIM: The Goa Human Rights Commission (GHRC) has issued suo motu notices to the North Goa District Magistrate and the Inspector General (IG) Prisons in connection with self-immolation attempt by an inmate of the Central jail at Colvale.
The two-member Commission comprising acting Chairperson retired Judge Desmond D’Costa and Member retired judge Pramod V Kamat has issued notices to the North Goa Collector and IG (Prisons) asking them to inquire into the matter and to submit their replies on or before December 10.
