PANJIM: Residents of Ribandar grilled Electricity Department officials over the power outages in the last few days and demanded short and long term plans and rectification of the issues.
A joint meeting was held on Monday with Electricity Department officials, Imagine Panaji Smart City Development Limited (IPSCDL) officials and residents of Ribandar to discuss and thrash out issues pertaining to electricity outages.
The Chief Electrical Engineer assured residents that proper flow of information will be maintained between the complaint centre and complainants, and he will monitor the situation for better management of the area.
He also told residents that an aerial bunched cable has been laid from Old Goa to Ribandar, which is providing an alternative source to Ribandar in addition to existing feeder from Panjim.
MD and CEO of Smart City SPV spoke of long term plans of underground smart grid cabling and replacement of existing ones by transformers with more reliable compact sub stations. He assured that the works will be completed within nine months.
