MAPUSA: Saligao Sporting Club edge past Youth Sports Club of Colvale 3-2 in GFA’s Second Division football league match, Bardez zone, at Duler Stadium, here, Mapusa, on Sunday.
Colvale started in the right earnest and surged ahead in the 17th minute through a delightful free-kick taken by Abhijit Salgaonkar, 1-0.
At the stroke of half time, Saligao restored parity through former Sporting Clube star Bibiano Fernandes.
Post resumption, Saligao took the lead in the 47th minute through a cool finish from striker Ajay Diwadkar.
Subsequently, Rahul Naik stepped his game and made it 3-1 with a powerful strike.
Colvale did not give up the fight and pulled a goal back through Mozam Khan, who was assisted by Vichal Vaigankar.
