SIOLIM: The Camurlim villages have been facing a drought in the monsoon as the water supply to the village has been abruptly stopped literally making a mockery of the Har Ghar Jal scheme launched with much fanfare by the government.
Earlier, the villagers were happy when their water problem was solved after a tank was constructed near the Housing Board at Sateri and had no issues than even during the peak summer months of April and May. However, for nearly a month now, the village is facing an acute shortage of water with Darbar-wada and Khairat-Wagali areas being the only exception.
Ganesh Chaturthi is round the corner and how are we going to celebrate the festival without water, questioned the villagers.
The concerned officials were informed about the issue multiple times but nothing has been done till date and locals say that as of now they have to buy water from tankers.
