PANJIM: The State government will commence Tika Utsav 3.0 (vaccination programme) for the 18 to 44 age group from Sunday.
In an address to the people, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Friday said that persons in the age group of 18 to 44 can walk in at their respective vaccination centre and get a jab, without any restrictions. A maximum of 250 persons in 18-44 age groups will be vaccinated per day at every centre.

Tika Utsav 3.0 will be held at 164 locations at village panchayats and municipal councils and also at 40 permanent locations of the Directorate of Health Services across the State, Sawant said, adding that the government aims to achieve 100 per cent first dose of vaccination in Goa by July 30.
According to Sawant, till date about 70 per cent of the people above 45 years of age have been vaccinated, while 30 per cent in this age group are yet to take their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.
The Chief Minister appealed to everyone to take the vaccine at the centre nearest to them and to protect their near and dear ones from COVID-19 infection. He also hoped that through Tika Utsav 3.0, the government will reach every village panchayat and municipal council.
Sawant also appealed to the people not to crowd at the vaccination centre or at other panchayat centres and to visit their respective centre on the given date and time.
The State also issued a notification announcing several priority groups for vaccination including lactating mothers, co-morbid persons, seafarers, autorickshaw drivers, taxi drivers, yellow and black motorcycle pilots and parents of children up to 15 years of age.
