PANJIM: The election results of Alorna, Casarvarnem and Chandel-Hansapur panchayats in Pernem taluka were declared on Sunday.
In Alorna panchayat, Vinod Harijan was already declared elected unopposed from ward number I, which was reserved for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) communities.
The other elected candidates are ward II – Divya Naik (95 votes), ward III – Ramchandra Parab (98), ward IV – Maheshwar Parab (117), ward V – Shailesh Naik (143), ward VI – Aarti Raul (155) and ward VII – Siddhi Raul (80).
Casarvarnem panchayat: ward I – Sakshi Naik (99), ward II – Vrushali Naik (54), ward III – Navnath Naik (110), ward IV – Sonam Parab (95) and ward V – Avni Gad (114).
Chandel-Hansapur panchayat: ward I – Prajay Malik (elected unopposed) ward II – Rima Malik (153), ward III – Tulshidas Gawas (290), ward IV – Bala Shetkar (158) and ward V – Ruchira Malik (138).
Expressing their happiness on being declared elected, the winning candidates thanked the people for their victory and said they would work for development work of their respective village.
The polling for the three village panchayats was held on December 9. Soon after the results were declared by the returning officer, the State Election Commission lifted the model code of conduct.
