Duo arrested in theft case

MAPUSA: Anjuna police arrested two persons namely Rohan Rauji Salgaonkar, aged 27 years, and Samid Shashikant Tuyekar, aged 36, both residents of Saligao, in a theft case on Friday.
According to the police, a complaint was lodged by one Pratik Dharmesh Pandya, native of Vimannagar, Pune at Anjuna Police Station stating that unknown person entered his rented villa at Arpora and committed theft of laptops, one cell phone and video game all wroth Rs1.5 lakh.
Accordingly, a theft case was registered under section 380 of IPC and using electronic mobile surveillance and analysis of CCTV footages, the police managed to nab the allegedly accused Rohan.
Further during the interrogation he disclosed that the stolen property was sold to Samid. Anjuna police have managed to recover stolen property from their possession.
Accused persons were produced before the JMFC court Mapusa and are remanded to seven days police custody.
