PANJIM: In an interesting development the State government felicitated some of the prominent mining firms “for their contribution to the State”.

Industrial groups such as Fomento Group, Dempo Group of Industries, Salgaocar and Brothers, Chowgule and Companies, and Vedanta Ltd were among the prominent companies that were felicitated on Goa’s 35th Statehood Day.
These mining companies were commended for their contribution to Goa’s growth not only in their fields of mining but their involvement in fields of Education and Culture was also highlighted.
The felicitation was at the hands of Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant in the presence of the Governor.
While some companies have the owners and patriarchs receiving the honours others were represented by their next-generation leadership or senior management.
