The meeting was held to discuss and invite suggestions from public to prepare election manifesto for Goa and Curchorem constituency.
On the occasion party’s media head, Rupesh Shinkre said that for the last 15 days they have been visiting various people to know the local issues so that the party can make local and State manifesto for the forthcoming election.
“Around 300 to 400 meeting will be held all over the State to have a dialogue with the people to prepare 40 local manifestos of each constituency and one manifesto for the State,” said Shinkre and informed that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will be visiting the State soon after August 15 and hold meeting at Tisk-Usgao to listen to grievances of the mining dependent and affected people.
He further informed that Kejriwal will be visiting Quepem to know the tribal people issue and at Margao to know women’s issues.
He also assured to bring various industries in Goa after consulting locals as per the skill of Goans so that Goans can get maximum jobs.
During the interaction session, locals highlighted various issues affecting them. Anthony Menezes highlighted the vehicles parking problem in and around Curchorem market. He said that many commercial buildings are coming up and vehicles are increasing, but no proper required parking places are provided. “There is no sufficient place to keep even two-wheelers in the market area,” said Menezes and urged the party to solve the issue.
Shanker Rao, another resident, highlighted the need to reorganize the services in all the government departments particularly in the electricity department to avoid difficulties faced by the common men particularly senior citizens.
Earlier, welcoming the gathering local leader James Fernandes explained the basic idea of having interaction with the people and said that Goa can be governed with clean politics.
