I felt the need to do so. The Miramar – Dona Paula road along the beach has been blocked for almost 2 years now and has increased the volume of traffic on the inner roads. The inner road leading from Miramar- Dona Paula is almost washed away. The same road was dug up for laying down pipelines making the width even smaller. Even after completing the work, the dug up portion was not covered properly. The portion of the road in front of Gera Astoria is a death trap for motorcyclists and bikers. I know that the same issues have been repeating themselves for years. But this time it is worse than what was expected. There are so many potholes, dents not only at a specific location but on the entire stretch. We are in the rainy season and when the potholes get filled with water, they become even more dangerous. Two weeks back, the potholes were packed with mud and stones. But it has not made any difference. Also the Tonca to Caculo stretch is in a pathetic condition, mainly near the sewage plant.
The authorities are not even bothered. Only during IFFI they will feel the need to work on the roads but soon they will be back to their original state. I would like the concerned people to take the matter seriously as it is a major issue. It is your duty towards the public. It is your duty to understand the grievances of the public and solve them. Do not just dump mud and stones for the sake of doing it but do it so nobody can question you.
