Saligao United trounced P.V.C. Parra 4-1 to move into the quarter-finals of Fr. Chico Bayside Cup soccer at Dr Gustavo Monteiro stadium, Candolim on Sunday..Saligao led 2-1 at half time.
PVC Parra took the lead in the 20th minute through Shaikh following a misunderstanding between the goalkeeper and a defender.
However, Saligao United found the equaliser in the very next minute through a direct free kick taken by Duarte Cardozo to make it 1-1.
Saligao United thereafter played well and snatched the lead through Jai Ganesh off a cross from Dylan to make it 2-1.
Changing over, Saligao United scored another goal in the very 3rd minute through Cliffton off a corner kick rebound to give his team a commendable 3-1 lead.
P.V.C. Parra tried their level best to catch up with Saligo United but their forwards were unable to find the net.
However, in the dying minutes, Cliffton scored off Praveen to seal the match.
