PANJIM: A fine brace from Arun Naik saw Chapora Yuvak Sangh register a fluent 2-0 win over Peddem Bomm Sports Club, in the Goa Football Association Third Division League match, played at Chapora ground, on Friday.
Chapora started the match brightly and scored in the 23rd minute through Yallappa Satyappage. The winners inflated the lead just before the breather through Arun who later completed his brace in the second half.
At Quitula ground, Leonard De Souza’s 69th minute strike was enough to see Friends XI SC beat Bastora United SCC to make it 1-0.
Melvino Lima was the saviour for Fr Agnelo YSC Paroda as his only goal of the match gave his side a narrow 1-0 win over Chandor Club, at Chandor Church ground.
Meanwhile at Assonora ground, Bidesh XI beat FC Sanquelim 5-1.
Sahil Bughe scored a treble while Gaurish Bugde and Vijeet Salgaonkar were the other goal scorers for the winners. Sanquelim pulled a goal back through Ritesh Amonkar.
At Anjuna ground, Verem United thump Nerul SC 8-1.
GFA U-14 League
Youth Sports Club Colvale scored a resounding 4-2 win over St Christopher’s SC Tivim in the Goa Football Association’s U-14 League match played at Tivim ground, on Friday.
Ifran scored a fine hat-trick for the winners while Shawn Lobo netted the fourth.
Sohan Salkar and Kashinath Manekar netted for the losing side. The winners led 2-1at the break.
GFA U-16 League
CRC Chinchinim hit CRSC Navelim for a tennis score with a 6-3 winhe Goa Football Association’s U-16 League match .
Tabrez Mannur opened the scoring for Chinchinim in the 17th minute but the joy was short-lived as Velon Rebello netted the equaliser in the 23rd minute.
CRC Chinchinim took the lead again in the 32nd minute through Shario Gomes.
Tabrez scored the team’s third and thus completed his brace in the 39th minute as his side walked in the lemon break with a two-goal cushion.
Crossing over, Shario completed his brace in the 48th minute before Rizle Fernandes scored the team’s fifth.
Tabrez scored his hat-trick in the second half. Velon scored two late goals to also complete his hat-trick.
