Francisco Carvalho, a local resident, reported that visible cracks have emerged along the culvert’s sidewalls, and the underlying concrete structure has eroded significantly at multiple points, highlighting its vulnerability.

Milton Fernandes, another concerned local, pointed out that heavy vehicles frequently traverse the culvert to transport construction materials and other goods to the village. This constant load raises concerns of an imminent collapse.

Fernandes stressed on the need for PWD authorities to conduct a thorough inspection of the culvert without delay. “Immediate repair efforts are essential to preempt any mishaps and to ensure the safety of both local residents and commuters relying on the culvert,” he said.
