PANJIM: The Goa Government continues to drag its feet over the appointment of Chairman and Member Secretary of the Goa State Pollution Control Board almost ten months after NGT issued an order making special knowledge or practical experience in environment protection studies for both posts mandatory.
The Board’s failure has landed it in trouble with NGT last week issuing fresh notice to its chairman asking why its operation should not be ceased.
The post of Chairman has been vacant since March 2016 and the three-year tenure of the existing GSPCB and its Member Secretary Levinson Martins ended in June, last year.
