PANJIM: Crozan Society Bastora Won the State hockey championship, organised by Goans Hockey Association, defeating Majorda Hockey Club 6-2 at Peddem, on Sunday.
Crozan started brightly and scored three goals in the opening minutes. The first goal came from a solo effort of Issub who dribbled a couple of defenders to put the ball behind the net. The second goal was scored by Abbusaliya from a penalty corner and the third was scored by Manoj Pendneker from a defence splitting pass from Brandon. Majorda Hockey Club pulled two goals back through Rakesh and George Kullu from penalty corners to make it 2-3.

However, Crozan Society then took control of the game and scored their 4th through Abbusaliya. Manoj Pendneker and Sursit scored the other goals.
Earlier, Crozan Society in the North Zone beat Young Sports Mapusa 4-1.
