One arrested for stealing bikes

Panjim police have registered an FIR under Section 381 (theft by a servant) and arrested an employee of Vistar Honda two-wheeler showroom, here, for stealing and using five scooters worth Rs 2.30 lakh from the stock.
PI Sandesh Chodankar said the employee, Pranay Naik, had stolen five new unregistered Dio scooters from the showroom’s workshop and was using the same using fake number plates.
Chodankar said three of the scooters worth Rs 1.40 lakh have been recovered. When the proprietor, Vishu Tarcar, realised the scooters were missing he lodged a complaint with the police.
The PI said more of Pranay’s friends are involved in the crime and his interrogation will reveal more.
