PANJIM: Panjim Police on Monday arrested a Belgaum resident and seized 1300 kg of beef after intercepting a vehicle.
Panjim Police said that based on the information, the team was sent near Patto where the vehicle was intercepted and after checking it was found that the vehicle was transporting 1300 kg of beef without proper documentation.
Panjim PSI Utkrantrao Desai said the accused Subhani Desai, a resident of Belgaum, Karnataka has been arrested and the vehicle has been attached.
The accused has been booked under Sections 428 and 429 of IPC and Sections 3, 5, 8, 9 of Goa Daman and Diu Prevention of Cow Slaughtering Act and Section 11 of Prevention of Cruelty to Animal Act 1960, he informed.
