The Margao Municipal Council on Tuesday floated Rs two crore tender to undertake development work in the city, including the work for extension of the dog shelter.
MMC Chairperson Savio Coutinho said an amount of Rs 25 lakh would be spent on beautification of the compound of St Sebastian Church at Aquem.
“The dog shelter will be further expanded to the meet the growing requirements at an estimated cost of Rs 3.5 lakhs”, he added.
The ruling Municipal group was hit by dissensions following the delay in floating the tender for these developmental works. Ruling Councilors were highly critical of the delay on the part of the Civic body over the inordinate delay in floating the tender.
