Kadamba bus goes off road

6 passengers, driver and conductor injured

PONDA: Six passengers along with the driver and conductor were injured on Monday at Priol after a Kadamba bus went off the road and rammed into a roadside pole and climbed a compound wall.

According to Ponda PI Mohan Gaude, the incident took place at around 8 am wherein the bus carrying eight passengers was proceeding from Ponda bus stand to Querim-Savoiverem. When the vehicle reached Apewal, Querim-Savoiverem, the driver lost control at a sharp turn and went off the road and the bus rammed into a electric pole causing the bus to later climb on a roadside stone compound wall. 

Locals rushed and helped the passengers. A lady Dhanashri Naik was referred to GMC while the lady conductor Asha Gaude fractured her hand. Other passengers sustained minor injuries. 

According to locals, several sharp turns on the Apewal-Savoiverem route have caused accidents which have also resulted in deaths.
