PONDA: A cashew farmer in Bethora suffered a major loss as his orchard was gutted.
Vishnukant Naik said that the flames that engulfed the garbage at Bond Baag spread to his cashew plantation and caused him heavy losses.

“My only source of income has gone up in smoke and the authorities should conduct a probe into the matter and compensate me accordingly,” said Naik.
Ponda fire brigade rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control, saving some cashew trees.
