VASCO: A 36-year-old motorcyclist from Headland Sada-Vasco died while another motorcycle rider was seriously injured when the two motorcycles collided with each other outside a petrol pump near the Vasco church on Thursday night.
According to police reports, the mishap took place at about 10.30 pm as Surendra Kasalkar was proceeding from Chicalim towards Vasco on a motorcycle, while the other motorcycle rider, identified as Raegan from Mangor-Vasco, was travelling in the opposite direction. When the two vehicles reached near the gas station they collided with each other.
The impact of the collision was such that that Kasalkar was flung off the bike onto the road and sustained grievous head injuries in the fall. He was rushed to the Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim, where he was declared dead on arrival by the doctors on duty there, while Raegan is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Vasco.
