Cong demands FIR against CM, Health Minister

PANJIM: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Girish Chodankar has now filed second complaint demanding registration of FIR against Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and Health Minister Vishwajit Rane for midnight deaths of COVID-19 patients in the Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC), Bambolim.

Chodankar said that he was compelled to file his second complaint under Section 154 (3) of Code of Criminal Procedures because despite 12 days of filing the complaint, the Agassaim Police failed to register FIR against Sawant and Rane for killing innocent people in GMC.

Chodankar in his complaint to SP North said, “In view of all the callousness shown by Chief Minister and Health Minister in their administration which led to the death of more than 400 people not only due to the sheer negligence and mismanagement but above all their malafide intentions of not supplying the oxygen on time to the patients at GMC for the reasons best known to them.”

“This dreadful act is totally unacceptable to the Congress Party and this clearly shows that the BJP ruling the State today has no value for human life whatsoever. Despite of having the supply of oxygen in abundance as per the chief minister’s own admission, the health minister was sitting ducks and ruthlessly just allowed a large number of people to die on day-to-day basis, shamelessly giving logistical issues,” he said.
