Raut urged Vasco locals not to panic and that the essential items etc will be provided to the people in containment zone.
He also said people of Vasco should not panic and if the COVID cases increase, then Vasco should be under lockdown to stop the spread.
Raut also said it is good news that the doctor from Mangor hill area, who had initially tested positive, has now been confirmed as negative for coronavirus.
“Several people who had met the doctor for treatment had called us and wanted to undergo a checkup. Their respective numbers have been registered by a doctor from the Urban Health Centre, Vasco,” he added.
Incidentally, the Health Minister Vishwajit Rane posted on Twitter on Tuesday evening that he will be personally visiting Mangor Hill.
“To access the ground situation at Mangor hill and review the implementation of containment strategy as per the National COVID-19 Action Plan, I shall be visiting the containment zone to discuss further course of action to control the spread of the virus,” said Rane.
