PONDA: Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude began campaigning for Shiroda BJP candidate Subhash Shirodkar on Sunday. He campaigned at Bethora, Padal, Kazarwada and Ashewada.
On campaign trail, he said that the current government was formed under leadership of former chief minister late Manohar Parrikar.
He said that though the Dhavalikar brothers strongly claim that the MGP is for Bahujans, but practically it is fully owned and controlled by the Dhavalikar family.
“If MGP is the party of Bahujans, then, why Deepak Dhavalikar is in fray at Shiroda? Why the MGP ticket was not given to Abhay Prabu who had contested the last assembly poll on MGP ticket? This shows that this party is only to protect interests of the Dhavalikar family,” Gaude said.
Gaude, who had defeated Deepak Dhavalikar in the 2017 Assembly elections, said that the selfish politicians are rejected by voters in Priol constituency last time and they are now luring voters in Shiroda. He appealed to the voters not to fall prey to such lures, freebies which are of short term gains and instead vote for overall development of the constituency.
Shiroda Constituency has a large number of ST community people.
