MARGAO: Ave Maria AWC scored a resounding 7-1 win over CRSC Navelim in the GFA U-16 League match played at Navelim ground, on Sunday.
Ave Maria AWC showed no mercy to their opponents as they scored at regular intervals after opening their account in the third minute through Rizwan Pereira. From there on there was no stopping as the winners stuck six times in the first half.
Aaron Pereira scored two and Mohammed M also netted a brace. Zuriel Carvalho and Vishal Das scored a goal each for the winning side.
Moises Andrade scored the consolation for the losing side late in the game.
At Nagoa ground, Sirlim SC scored a fluent 7-0 win over Pax of Nagoa.
The winners led 4-0 at the breather. Diptesh Gaonkar scored four while Adriel Mendes, Aggi D’Costa and Milton Fernandes scored a goal each for the winning side.
In another match at Poriat ground, St Savio SC defeated Verem United SC. Jovito Fernandes scored four for the winning side and Leon Kerketta added the fifth for St Savio SC.
