MARGAO: Goa Forward Party president and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardessai in a letter to Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant has offered to throw open his Goemkar Ghor for vaccination programme, especially as vaccination above the aged of 18 years is due to start.
Vijai wrote that Goans are unnecessarily suffering due to “lack of management and priorities” and said it was important that all join hands in the fight against the pandemic.
He lamented that when the vaccine programme commenced in Goa it was sought to be politicised by the government as logo of the Bharatiya Janata Party was displayed at places where the vaccination was conducted.
He argued that this was not the time to play politics or score brownie points. Vijai said the need was for all elected representatives to come together to save fellow Goans from this deadly disease and asserted that “quick and critical action is required to vaccinate all above age of 18.”
In view of the rapid increase in the cases and given the fact that there will be a huge demand for premises when vaccination of those above 18 years commences, he said he was offering his Goenkar Ghor premises which has ample space for vaccination.
