Foreigners have always wondered as to how we Indians contain all religious faiths together in harmony. The builders of our great nation were never lacking intelligence or compassion when they had decided to introduce ‘secularism’ as our state religion, which many other super powers around the world look up to with a tint of jealousy.
A lot of technical know-how, knowledge, and indeed a great deal of money from around the world, especially the Western countries and the Arab world have flown into our economy, making it one of the strongest, as decades and centuries passed by. The same West that is being shunned now by some of our ‘literally backward’ law makers were once where our prominent leaders were sent for an education including our own ‘Father of the Nation’!
Even now, many Indians including the Hindus are migrating to the West for a quality life which they are unable to get in their own country. What if all those Western and the Arab countries evacuate only the ‘Hindus’ out of their systems? Have these people who are preaching ‘Hindutva’ and are talking about ‘ethnic cleansing’ of India ever thought of that possibility? Have they thought about the fact that their political parties get their much needed economic backing from NRIs and other Indians who work in countries following other faiths? And , they are indeed very happy there without any political or racial tension as much as in their own country!
We have many other social issues nagging us other than religion. Our garbage disposal system, our open defecating system, our poverty, public outraging of the modesty of our women and many more issues are being made fun of by the foreigners. Why can’t the self-made ‘moral’ and ‘religious’ police of our country think about these issues for a while and try to find a solution instead?
In my point of view, Namo is trying his level best to make an image for the country in general and his political party in particular with his working style and his persona. Yet such thoughtless remarks made by the members of his team would only lower the whole thing into a naught!
