RAIA: Navelim Sporting Club defeated St. Anthony’s SC of Marna Siolim 3-0 to march into the semi-finals of Cana Benaulim Panchayat Cup inter-village football tournament at St. John de Baptista ground, Benaulim, Monday.
Navelim dominated the first session and scored two goals through Prestley Gomes in the 6th and 25th minutes respectively. Navelim had an opportunity to consolidate the lead but Sadroy Costa missed a sitter. Vipul Pednekar of Marna Siolim missed a scoring chance in the first half. Freldon Gomes made the issue more safer for Navelim scoring the third goal in the second session.
