Was there any response from the concerned utilities office? It appears that the water utilities office is least bothered in examining the complaint of citizens. The concerned sub-division has again issued a faulty water bill on 17/08/15 for water consumption period 23/04/15 to 22/06/15(61days). Although all billing entries have appeared at the right places, the water bill calculations are not as per the water tariff printed on the back of the bill. The consumer should get less water charges, if calculations are made as per the water tariff printed on the back of the bill. In case the water tariff has been revised with effect from 01/04/2015, there was a need to print the revised water tariff on the back of the issued bill so that consumers could check their water bill calculations. If old remaining printed water billing stationery is used, the revised water tariff has to be stamped on it in bold for consumer awareness. This was not done in June 2015 and is not done even in August 2015! As per the notes printed on the water bill, consumers have to pay the amount billed within due date, even if a faulty bill has been deliberately issued to the consumer. Further, as per the printed notes on the water bill, complaints if any on the amount of the bill shall be settled separately. The water utilities office is repeatedly issuing faulty bills and expecting consumers to pay, without looking into the complaints made through letters to the editor.
Faulty water bill again!
My letter on faulty water bill had appeared on the Citizen Herald page dated June 26, 2015. PWD Works Div.IX/ Sub.Div.IV(Curtorim) had issued a faulty bill on 22/06/15 for water consumption period 21/02/15 to 22/04/15(61 days).
