PANJIM: As part of an initiative intended at attracting farmers, Department of Fisheries will be selling local-grown milkfish (gholshi) at the head office premises on July 11.
A statement released by the Directorate states that the fish will be available for sale on a first come first serves basis on July 11 from 10.30 am till the stock lasts. “The fish will be sold at Rs 200 a kg,” the statement reads.
Speaking to Herald, Fisheries Department officials said, “This is the third time we have come with this sale of milkfish for the public. We have cultured this fish at the fish farm and if there is a demand we will come with such fish sale at regular intervals.”
