MARGAO: A Pleasure scooter was gutted in fire opposite the scrap yard at Fatorda on Thursday.
According to Margao Fire Station Officer Gil Souza, fire personnel led by Sub Officer A K Valip brought the fierce flames under control. While the loss was pegged at around Rs 20,000, the fire brigade is believed to save property worth Rs 20,000.

Meanwhile, in another incident, bushes along with a a green net tarpaulin caught fire near a temple at Gogol.
FSO Souza said their team led by Sub Officer N V Takkar with one fire tender saved property worth Rs 5,000 even as property worth around Rs 1,000 had gone up in smoke.
