Poor upkeep and encroachments in Osia building at Margao

The Osia building at Margao houses many commercial establishments, government offices, eateries and a cinema chain, but many of the shops on the ground floor have encroached upon public circulation spaces including corridors and verandahs, which makes it difficult for the general public to conduct their affairs.

The facility management of the complex is extremely deplorable with cats, dogs and assorted rodents having taken up permanent residence there. During rains, the kota stone-floored corridors are filled with rainwater making them very slippery and movement dangerous. Garbage is dumped everywhere, the toilets are filthy and the walls are damp and ‘paan’ spittle stained.

I would request the tenants’ association/building society to look into the matter and improve things, visiting the complex is an extremely unpleasant experience.
