In a note forwarded to Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar, D’Souza has referred to the Herald’s February 27, 2016 report regarding severe shortage of water at GMC. “The matter is serious and a detailed inquiry needs to be ordered to find out the cause of problem since PWD is denying any failure on their part,” the note states.
Further, D’Souza says in the note, “I am serious over the matter and desire that an audit of the water supply to GMC be conducted by the Chief Engineer of Water Resources Department.”
Earlier, speaking to Herald the Dy Chief Minister had blamed PWD for short supply of water and the PWD on the other hand had blamed GMC’s internal distribution system.
PWD had also said they are supplying more than the adequate requirement and that there was a lot of wastage of water at GMC.
